Residential housing society consist of 5 towers and 96 flats. The monthly combined energy consumption during audit phase was 4209 kWh and total amount for energy bill was Rs. 55793. Specific energy consumption per flat was 44 kWh during the audit phase.
Energy Audit & Implementation of Energy Saving measures:
During the analysis of facility there were some observations and recommendations for energy saving measures in following systems:
- Pumping system modification & upgradation to energy efficient pumps.
- Installation of level indicators for overhead tanks.
- Upgradation to energy efficient lights
- Monitoring & observation for the usage of pumping system.
- Energy savings from the project 35 % referred to baseline audit.
- Monetary savings in project per month 42 % referred to baseline audit.
- Specific energy consumption per unit flat reduced from 44 kWh to 28 kWh.
- Payback period for project investment is 7.5 months.
- Saving of carbon emissions per year is 14829 kg of CO2 which is equivalent to the carbon emissions saved by 681 tress/year.
